Learning Disability Week 19—25th June 2023

Learning Disability Week takes place this year between 19—25th June. Started by Mencap, it is a national awareness week to educate the world on what life is like if you have a learning disability. On their website, they state.. “This year we want to show the world the incredible things that people with a learning disability achieve, smashing misconceptions about what people can do and shining a light on the stigma many still face every day.”

We will be marking Learning Disability Week across our social media channels by sharing stories from our members. Each day, we will focus on a different theme, to show you how much of a difference our services make to the lives of children, young people and adults with a disability in West Essex, and celebrate the personal goals they have achieved and how their lives have changed.

Please watch this short video, to find out what Accuro Clubs do for members and how you can support local children, young people and adults with a disability in West Essex this week…

Follow our #LDW23 campaign all this week on Instagram and please share, share, share! Our Facebook is currently disabled so we would REALLY appreciate any help you can offer!

Will you be an Accuro Champion?

Just £10 a month could sponsor the fees for a young person to attend a 2 hour Youth Club session every month for a year. That equates to 24 hours of respite for parents and carers over the course of a school term. You could be giving a child, young person or adult access to services that will boost their self-confidence, independence, happiness and well-being, and provide social opportunities, helping them to make friendships, develop life skills, and encourage them to feel empowered.

This week we are asking you to consider how you could help. Donate today and make a difference to local people with a disability in West Essex.
