2nd Thorley Guides raise £350 in Grow a Pound Challenge

The 2nd Thorley Guides have raised the fantastic sum of £350 for Accuro in a “Grow a Pound” fundraising challenge.

The Guides were given £1.00 by Accuro and each came up with their own fundraising idea to make their pound grow.

Some of the Guides worked individually while others worked in small groups, with many growing their pound to over £50. Some of the girls used their £1.00 to buy ingredients to make sweet treats for a bake sale, one bought a sponge to wash cars, there was a sponsored run and even a five hour trampoline bounce-a-thon!

The Guides’ group leader Judith told us, “We were so pleased at how involved the girls got in the challenge, the outcome was even better than we expected. We’re so proud of them.”

The group all worked so hard and we were thrilled with the amount of effort and creativity that went into the Guides’ fundraising ideas. The Guides were awarded certificates from Accuro as well as special fundraising badges to display proudly on their uniforms. Thank you all very much!
