December Newsletter

As the end of the year approaches, we’re reflecting on the past 12 months at Accuro. While still a strange year in many ways, we’ve had plenty of reasons to be thankful and to celebrate in 2021.

This year, alongside enjoying our existing clubs and services and welcoming new members, we also launched two new services for young adults with a disability, STRIDE and the Young Adult Friendship Scheme and an addition to our services for children with a disability, SEND Parent and Toddler Group, ‘Stay and Play’. These projects began in September, expanding our services and meeting a need for Young Adult and Younger Children’s services in West Essex.

In Spring 2022, STRIDE will be coming to Dunmow for our second 6-month life skills programme for people aged 19-25 with a disability. Our first 6 month programme has been running in Harlow and has been a huge success so far. We are so proud of our members and their progress and can’t wait to welcome new STRIDE members in the new year. The Young Adult Friendship Scheme runs in Harlow, Uttlesford and Epping, spaces are available at this service also. If you, or anyone you know may be interested in these services, please visit accuro.org.uk/adults

Our SEND Parent and Toddler Group, ‘Stay and Play’ ran it’s final session this Tuesday 21st December. We look forward to returning in the new year on Tuesday 11th January. Stay and Play runs from 10am-12pm on Tuesdays at Fairycroft House in Saffron Walden. Please feel free to drop in in the new year, or spread the word to anyone who may benefit from the service.

From all of us at Accuro, we’d like to say thank you to our members, their families, our staff, volunteers and supporters for their support in 2021. We couldn’t do what we do without you.

We invite you to watch our 2021 ‘best bits’ video, highlighting some of our favourite moments caught on camera throughout the year. Watch below or click here. Enjoy!

Thank you for making a difference.

I would just like say a very merry Christmas to everyone who attends Accuro projects and their family members, staff and supporters and as we move towards 2022, here is to a happy and healthy new year.

Thank you for your ongoing support for our wonderful charity.

Best Wishes,
Alison McKeown
