Life Skills at STRIDE

Our Life Skills Project ‘STRIDE’ launched in Harlow in September and is off to a fantastic start.
So far, our members have covered essential life skills including fitness and the importance of keeping active with a fun fitness workshop, domestic skills including cleaning, changing bedsheets, hoovering and visiting the laundrette and social and communication skills and money management during a trip to the cafe.
Accuro’s ‘STRIDE’ programme provides activities and support covering a wide range of areas including healthy living, personal care, household tasks, how to keep safe, social and communication skills and much more, helping members to develop these essential life skills as they transition into adulthood, increasing independence and encouraging them to have fun and enjoy life to its full potential.
If you’d like to hear even more about what we’ve been up to, in this month’s episode of Accuro Out Loud, we chat with Coordinator of Adult Services, Kerry all about ‘STRIDE’ and with STRIDE member Rebecca and her Mum Lesley about their Accuro journey. Tune in at: anchor.fm/accuro or search Accuro Out Loud on Spotify or Apple Podcasts.
STRIDE is a six month programme for young adults aged 19-25 with a learning disability. Our next programme will launch in early 2022 in Uttlesford. For more information, please click here.
