With face to face fundraising events cancelled for 2020, Accuro took to the internet for virtual events!

One of these virtual events was a virtual facial workshop, run by Alicia Tricker, a beauty therapist and consultant with Neal’s Yard. Participants each received a sample kit with the products they needed to carry out their facial, then joined a Zoom session where Alicia gave a step by step guide to the perfect online facial.

We spoke to Alicia about her fundraising experience with Accuro.

Q. Tell us a bit about you and your business!

I’m a mummy and wife to Ken and John and I’m so lucky to have a job that I love and a family that are so supportive of my little business. I’m a beauty therapist with a salon in my garden, I use all organic, toxin free and cruelty free products and I’m also an independent consultant with Neals yard Remedies Organic. My clients love using the products in the salon and at home. I’m known as the ‘Neals Yard Lady’ and people know they can come to me for gifts for loved ones. I always have something perfect in stock!

Q. How has the pandemic affected your business? Have there been any positives that have come from it?

When Covid struck, I was devastated to close the salon doors but I quickly realised to survive was to adapt. Neals Yard gave me the tools to take my business online and I have loved doing zoom facials, workshops and parties online. I’ve met so many people that I would never have met otherwise because online there are no geographical restrictions. My business has thrived during Covid because I offer a lovely treat that’s totally free and a way to get together with family and friends. So my whole pandemic experience has been very positive!

Q. How has working alongside Accuro informed you about the work of the charity?

By doing the virtual facial workshop for Accuro, I have learned so much about the good that they do in the community. I love that Accuro help so many people with so many things. It really is an amazing job that you guys do.  I wasn’t aware of Accuro before but love supporting local charities so I was amazed at what you provide for your members and think that the work you do is so inspiring. I tell everyone I know about Accuro now!

Q. We know you do a lot of fantastic fundraising through your business, what does fundraising mean to you?

I have always wanted to give a little bit of joy back to others. I think charities do an amazing job and love to support whenever I can.  I love using my business as a way of helping people. I’m always willing to raise money for a charity that is dear to me or others. It gives me so much joy to help and support and I wouldn’t be the person I am today if my life hadn’t been touched by so many people I’ve come into contact with through my charity work and endeavours.

Q. The virtual facial workshop was a hit with all who attended – thank you! If our supporters would like to learn more about your business and get involved – what should they do?

There are many ways you can learn about my business. I’m always at the end of the telephone. I love talking about organic beauty, saving the planet etc, so get in touch for a chat! I have a Facebook page and you can message me on there too. If you wanted to have a little browse of some fantastic gifts without the hassle of going out queuing and wearing masks , then please look at my little shop and if anyone wanted to come to one of my workshops or book their own online pamper and Xmas shopping experience then do feel free to get in touch
