Saturday 11th July marks the beginning of Accuro’s ‘Mindful Miles’ week.
A week dedicated to getting out into nature and walking as far as you like, for as long as you like in support of Accuro (Care Services).
You can set your own target, or set no target. All we ask is that you get out, enjoy some fresh air and take some time to take in the world around you, focusing on your senses as you walk.
What can you hear, see, smell…?
It’s more important now than ever that we look after our mental health. We are all going through the same thing, though we all deal with it in our own unique ways.
At Accuro, we are supporting our members at this time, keeping them connected with us and their friends from their clubs. This aids in reducing social isolation, builds a sense of belonging and can help to reduce any mental health issues that may have arisen as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
Signing up to take part in our Mindful Miles week means you are directly helping us to continue supporting our members during lockdown and beyond.
Entry is absolutely free, though donations are gratefully received. Each person that enters will receive a sensory checklist of things to look out for on your walk, along with some mindfulness tips.
There is no fundraising target, but if you are able, please sign up to support Accuro via Virgin Money Giving or Just Giving. Information on how to set up a fundraising page will be included in your welcome pack.
Everyone that raises at least £25 will be entered into a draw to win prizes to help with mindfulness and wellbeing at home.
Small charities like Accuro need your support now more than ever and every penny counts.
