Introducing our Chair of Trustees

I am delighted to introduce myself as the new Chair of the Board of Trustees at Accuro Care Services.

It is a real privilege to take on this role and to become part of an organisation with such a strong commitment to supporting people with learning disabilities and their families. I have already been struck by the dedication of Accuro’s staff, volunteers and trustees, and by the importance of the services the charity provides within the communities it serves.

I bring considerable experience of leadership, governance and working within the charitable and social care sectors, and I am looking forward to using that experience to support Accuro through the next stage of its development.

As Chair, one of my priorities will be to ensure that Accuro remains a strong, well-governed and sustainable organisation, while never losing sight of what matters most: the quality of the support we provide and the difference that Accuro makes to the lives of the people and families who use our services.

Partnership will be an important part of that. Accuro does not work in isolation, and our relationships with families, commissioners, funders, partner organisations, supporters and the wider community are enormously important to us. Over the coming months, I hope to meet and listen to many of those who work with and support Accuro, and to understand what you value about the organisation as well as where you believe there may be opportunities for us to develop further.

Alongside my fellow trustees, I want to provide stability and strong governance while also looking positively to the future. We will be considering Accuro’s longer-term strategic direction, how we strengthen the organisation and, importantly, how we ensure that the voices and experiences of the people we support and their families remain central to our decisions.

I am very much looking forward to working with you and to building on the relationships that have helped make Accuro the organisation it is today.
