Good Luck Team Accuro in the Cambridge Half Marathon!
Accuro clubs and activities across West Essex give children, young people and adults with a disability the chance to build confidence, grow in independence, make friends and simply have fun in a safe and supportive environment. None of this would be possible without the incredible people who step up to fundraise for us. Taking on 13.1 miles is no small thing – but the impact of their effort reaches far beyond race day.
On Sunday 8th March, five runners will be taking on the Cambridge Half Marathon in support of Accuro – and each of them has their own very personal reason for taking part.
Introducing Team Accuro….
Paul and Laura – Running as Accuro Parents
For Paul and Laura, Accuro isn’t just a charity they support – it’s part of their family’s life.
As parents of an Accuro member, they know first-hand the difference our clubs and activities make – both to their child and to the whole family. They’ve seen the confidence grow, the friendships form and the joy that comes from having a safe space to truly belong.
Taking on 13.1 miles is their way of giving something back. Every training run and every mile on race day is about helping ensure other families can experience that same support.

Tracy – Inspired Through Her Work with Young People with SEND
Tracy knows Accuro through her work supporting young people with SEND. She’s chosen to run because she believes in creating opportunities, building confidence and making sure young people feel valued and included.

Kevin – Running for Someone Close to His Heart
Kevin’s connection to Accuro is a personal one too. His wife is a member of our staff team, so he sees up close the care, dedication and hard work that goes into supporting our members and their families.
He hears the stories, understands the impact and knows just how much every pound raised matters.

Neil – Determined to Honour his Supporters
Neil was due to take part in the Brighton Marathon in 2025 but sadly had to withdraw due to injury.
Rather than letting his fundraising efforts go to waste, he made a promise to come back stronger and complete a challenge in support of Accuro. The Cambridge Half Marathon is his moment to do just that.
We are incredibly thankful to Paul, Laura, Tracy, Kevin and Neil for choosing to take on this challenge for Accuro.
If you’d like to support them, you can find their fundraising links above. Every donation will help us continue providing safe, supportive spaces where people with a disability can build confidence, independence and lasting friendships.
Please do give what you can – and if you see them on the course on 8th March, give them an extra cheer from all of us.
Good luck team and thank you – we’re with you every step of the way!
