Accuro at the Superhero Tri – 16th August 2025

What a day! On Saturday 16th August, Accuro members, staff and volunteers headed to Dorney Lake, near Windsor to take part in the Superhero Tri, the UK’s only disability sports series for everyday superheroes.

Accuro member Gerard took on the run/walk leg of the Sprint triathlon, supported by his brilliant sidekicks Alice and Fiona. Together they crossed the finish line with huge smiles – and in Gerard’s own words, the whole event was a “10/10!”

It wasn’t just about the triathlon. The team had a fantastic day meeting Paralympians, connecting with other charities and soaking up the incredible, inclusive atmosphere at the Olympic venue. What makes the Superhero Tri so special is that all ages and abilities are welcome – you can take your time, go at your own pace, and most importantly, just be yourself.

Channel 4 are broadcasting a roundup of the event on Sunday 31st August at 9:15am, why not have a watch and learn more about the event and learn what you may be capable of. There truly is nothing stopping anyone from participating.

We’re already planning for next year’s event on Saturday 15th August 2026 at Dorney Lake, and Gerard will be there doing more of the triathlon disciplines! We’ll be taking the Accuro minibus again, but places are limited, so if you’d like to come along, don’t wait too long to book!
