Comedy Night in aid of Accuro – 29th April

Trainer, comedian and writer Mel Byron is set to host a night of laughter in a Charity Comedy Night at Seasons Bar Woodford on Friday 29th April in aid of Accuro.

Joining Mel are four award winning local comedians Chris Norton Walker, Emily McQuade, Luke Poulton and Stylophobia.

In a recent interview for our podcast, ‘Accuro Out Loud’, Mel, who runs workshops such as ‘Laughter at Work’ and ‘Work like a Comedian’, told the charity, “I just want to lighten the load for people.” While talking about comedy for charity, she continued, “We can do good by having a laugh, you don’t know what people in the room are going through.”

Luke Poulton, who was voted Essex Comedian of the Year 2019, commented,  “It means a lot to me. Because of being autistic, I get to do a lot of really nice charity gigs and it means a lot to see parents come along that have kids that are autistic.” He continued, “I’ve had parents come up to me afterwards saying how much it means to see me up on stage doing this kind of thing. It’s lovely.”

Events like this make a huge different at small charities like Accuro and it means a lot to us that the comedians involved are so connected to the cause. It’s going to be a brilliant evening and we hope to welcome members of the local community for a few hours of fun and laughter!

Tickets are £15 per person. The event starts at 8pm and is for ages 18 and up only.
