What our families say…
“Accuro allows our daughter to play, interact and meet children who won’t judge her. She’s one of the gang.”
“He does no other social or independent activities apart from school, so going to Accuro is really important for him and for us.”
“This is an amazing charity. We are blessed to have you.”
Happy New Year! We hope you had a restful Christmas and New Year. As we look forward to the year ahead, we’re sharing some simple, feel-good ways that you can get involved and make a difference to people with disabilities by supporting Accuro in 2022.
We have exciting plans for the year, including launching our life skills programme for young adults, STRIDE, in Uttlesford and of course, continuing with fun, safe, inclusive activities at our existing clubs and services for people with disabilities in West Essex. Your support helps us to continue these valuable services.
Cook Along with Luke
Join Chef Luke Fishpool on Friday 11th February, at 6pm, on Zoom for a Valentines Cook Along and prepare his Spinach and Ricotta Cannelloni, a recipe and method suitable for the inexperienced Cook as well as those more confident in the kitchen.
Luke will guide you step by step as you create a wonderful meal to share this Valentines or on any other day of the year! Tickets are £15 per household and as always, all proceeds go to Accuro. Register or view our other upcoming events here.
Get Social
Perhaps one of the easiest ways to show your support for Accuro is to join us on social media. Following us and engaging with us on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram not only helps you to stay in the loop with the latest Accuro news and updates, but also helps us to increase our ‘reach’ online, helping us to spread the word and reach more people who could benefit from our services. Check out our blog post here for more information on how your engagement on social media makes an impact.
Take on a Challenge
If new experiences are what you’re after in 2022, then look no further than a charity challenge! Join our amazing supporters who have; trekked mountains, run miles dressed as Santa and jumped out of planes, by taking on your own challenge this year. If you’re a cyclist, why not consider Ride London Essex 100? We have limited spaces available for FREE entry with a £400 fundraising target. Contact us on fundraising@accuro.org.uk or visit our website here for information on other challenge ideas.
Get Involved
Volunteering with Accuro is a fantastic way to make a difference as you meet new people, develop your skills and add to your C.V. There are several ways to volunteer at Accuro including remote and office work or by helping out at clubs and at fundraising and awareness events. To get involved, please visit our website here.
“Accuro is a fun, inclusive environment. Everyone can be who they want to be. Sometimes I feel like I get more out of coming to Club than the Club gets out of me!” – Ellen, Volunteer at Loughton Youth Group
