Holiday Support Project
Accuro run a Summer Scheme Programme every year throughout the summer holidays for children aged 6-19 years. We match each child to a suitable Family Support Worker who takes the child out on a 1 to 1 basis for fun leisure and social activities.
This is a great opportunity for children to experience a variety of outings and at the same time gives the parents the chance of a break and some free time for themselves.Some of the places the children visit are:
- Cinema
- Bowling
- Park/playground
- Farm/zoo
- Museum
- Swimming
We also aim to provide group activity days throughout the summer and all through the other school holidays too which children seem to really enjoy. These fun days have included:
- Art Day
- Canal Boat Trip
- Drama Day
- Music Day
- Farm Day
- Sports Day

"Being a single parent of 2 children with disabilities doesn't leave me much respite time and also restricts what we are able to do as a family. The scheme enables the children to have positive 1:1 care & to have special days out. This in turn enables me to have the respite I would otherwise not have which can only be a positive thing for all of us."
